Theodore Roosevelt Helped Shape His World

Theodore Roosevelt was the great outdoorsman. As president, he created national parks, wildlife refuges, and forests—places like the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.

He battled monopolies, taking on John D. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil Company and J. P. Morgan’s Northern Securities, Co.
Roosevelt built up the Navy and sent ships around the world to show U.S. power. He championed the Panama Canal, which helped make America a world power.
