Arapahoe Indian Chief Sharp Nose

Sharp Nose was a member of the Northern Arapahoe who served as a scout with the United States cavalry.

General George Crook said he was “one of the best specimens of his race on the continent. He commanded the detachment of friendly Indian scouts in the Big Horn Mountains in 1876. Sharp Nose’s behavior on that occasion, as well as at all times since, entitles him the grateful consideration of all good citizens.
“He is honest and friendly, and his word can be relied upon implicitly.”
