If you've ever read one of my stories and thought, "I never knew that happened," or "I remember hearing about that," you're in the right place.
History is full of
stories that deserve to be told. Gunfights in dusty Western towns. Outlaws who
made the newspapers for all the wrong reasons. Lawmen who weren't always on the
right side of the law. Bank robberies, murders, crooked politicians, forgotten
heroes, and ordinary people who found themselves caught up in extraordinary
events.
Some of these
stories made headlines across the country. Others barely got a mention in the
local newspaper before disappearing into history.
Those are the
stories I like to find.
I spend a lot of
time digging through old newspapers, books, court records, and historical
accounts, looking for the details that bring these people and events back to
life. Sometimes, a story comes together in an afternoon. Other times, it takes
days of searching, following one lead after another, trying to figure out what
really happened.
And sometimes, the
best part of a story is something I wasn't even looking for.
That's what keeps me
going. There's always another outlaw, another gunfight, another forgotten town,
or some strange little piece of history waiting to be discovered.
I try to keep things
simple. Tell a good story. Get the facts right. Make it interesting enough that
you'll want to keep reading.
No made-up
conversations. No wild claims just to get attention. Just genuine history, told
the way I'd tell it to a friend.
Buy Me a Big Gulp
Here's where you
come in.
If you've enjoyed
the stories on NickVulich.com, and you'd like to help keep them coming,
consider buying me a Big Gulp.
I'm not asking you
to finance an expedition across the frontier or outfit a posse. A few bucks
will do just fine.
Every contribution
helps cover the cost of newspaper archives, old books, research materials,
occasional trips to historical sites, and the other expenses that come with
chasing down stories from the past.
It also helps me
spend more time doing what I enjoy most: finding forgotten history and sharing
it with you.
There's no
obligation. The stories are here for you to enjoy whether or not you contribute.
But if you've spent a few enjoyable minutes reading about a gunfight, a
notorious outlaw, or some long-forgotten crime, and feel like tossing a few
dollars into the research fund, I'd appreciate it.

Like Old West History? Check Out My Books.
If you enjoy reading
about the Old West, I've also written books that take a closer look at the
gunfighters, outlaws, and violent events that helped shape its history.
They're for readers
who enjoy the authentic stories behind the legends, including the parts that
Hollywood usually leaves out.
And whether you buy
a book, contribute, share a story with a friend, or just keep coming back to
read, you're helping keep these old stories alive.
There's a lot more
history out there. I've barely scratched the surface.
Thanks for reading.
